Hi! I’m Carla. I got started running on a whim several years ago. I was tired of being on the couch and decided to do something about it. I started training in March, ran my first half marathon by July and my first full marathon by September.
Since then, I set many goals for myself that some thought were unachievable. My first goal was to run the Boston Marathon. Did that within my first year of running.
From there, I set my sights on running all 50 states. I have just over 10 to go.
I love the things running has done for me, but more I love the people I have come in contact with along the way.

Every journey begins with the first step. It can be the most difficult but definitely the most rewarding. Do something great. Do something for you.

I am so excited when people join the journey that I joined a few years ago. The changes in my life have been phenomenal and I love seeing those changes in others.
Build Confidence
Confidence grows with every LITTLE goal we achieve. The running community is such an open and embracing community. Moving forward, no matter how slowly, is moving forward, and we cheer that on.
Boost Your Mood
I'm not going to lie, sometimes running sucks. But what it does do is focus your mind and allows for your thoughts to be determined to achieve a certain goal. Being outside, listening to music, elevating your heartrate, all of this boosts your endorphin level. Sometimes, your mood can be elevated just by finishing your run, happy that it is over. Your body will thank you regardless.
Increase Energy Levels
Heartrates pumped up, getting off the couch and turning off the TV, achieving goals, meeting some really fabulous people. It all leads to boosts in your energy and your day.
